On 25 May 2017, the final of the 9th Maths Contest in Elblag took place. This is an Internet mathematics competition for post-secondary school students organised by the State University of Applied Sciences in Elblag and the Warmian–Mazurian Teacher Training Centre in Elblag.
The main objective of the competition is to increase mathematical skills of post-secondary school students in the 14 poviats of the Warmian-Mazurian voivodeship and Pomeranian voivodeship, as well as to increase students' interest in technical faculties. The competition is also meant to help students prepare for the obligatory maturity examination in mathematics. Three stages of the competition took place on the Internet, whereas the fourth stage was carried out on a stationary basis. 54 students were qualified for the finals.
Winning attractive prizes was possible thanks to the honourable patrons and sponsors, including:
